Teaching Artist

Joe first became involved with Artistic Noise in 2018 by simply stopping into our Harlem storefront and introducing himself to the team here. As a young person from the neighborhood interested in art and art making, Joe quickly became a central member of the A&E community. Joe was involved as an A&E member for over two years, and during that time successfully completed two mural projects in collaboration with the SVA MPS Art Therapy program. Joe's last mural project with us, Here Lies Shavo, included a performance aspect which took place during public community days.

Joe runs the Wednesday Art & Entrepreneurship program sessions, where he teaches a variety of themes and artistic mediums from Black history to mural painting, portraiture, and more.
