Climbing the Gears of Life represents the emotions, hope, faith and tolerance of a young man in the system. Life for a young incarcerated man is difficult in many ways, for example not being able to be with your loved ones, waking up with the sound of keys opening your door, being told what to do, in other words, having your freedom taken away from you. When in the system, a young man has no choice but to complete the sentence given by the judge and comply with rules and regulations. Once in full facility uniform a young man has lost his identity and the mind tells him he is a case number or state property. He wants to become invisible or have wings like an eagle.
