Memorial Book
Using printmaking techniques involving stenciling and imprinting with found objects, girls made an accordion book dedicated to loved ones who passed away. Given that many of these girls have suffered very personal and profound loss, this project provided a means for them to express their feelings in a safe, constructive way. Many chose to use symbolic imagery including feathers, crosses and birds, to express a particular idea about death or memory.
